Man arrested for felony child abduction in DHS
A man wanted on charges of felony child abduction was recently arrested by Desert Hot Springs police.
According to Sgt. Daud Chang with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, Kenneth Miles Flores had a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody in the 17000 block of Palm Drive shortly after 8 p.m. Friday night.
Flores walked into a business, the business owner recognized him, and then called police, Sgt. Chang told KESQ and CBS Local 2 Tuesday afternoon.
Officers haven’t released specifics regarding the child involved in the abduction case, but they said Flores’ mother was called to retrieve the child, whom was apparently left inside the car when the suspect entered the business.
The child was reunited with family.
Kenneth Andrew Miles Flores was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on felony child abduction charges. His bail was set at $100,000 and his next court date is scheduled for July 12.
KESQ and CBS Local 2 expects to receive more details from police regarding the child abduction case in the near future. We’ll deliver updates as the case moves forward.
