Fountain of Life in Cathedral City shut down for repairs

A popular water fountain some children use to cool off in Cathedral City has been shut down for its first maintenance upgrade in ten years.

According to Cathedral City Councilman Greg Pettis, the Fountain of Life in front of Cathedral City Hall may be back open by the middle of June. But he said crews are finding more plumbing and electrical issues than anticipated.

Pettis also said city staff is working as fast and hard as they can to wrap up the project as soon as possible.

When the fountain is functioning once again, it will be a welcomed sight for many as temperatures are beginning to soar into the triple digits in the Coachella Valley.
