Palm Springs Power looks to defend SCCBL Championship

The Palm Springs Power baseball team will open its 2016 season Friday with a home game against the So Cal Catch, followed up by a fireworks presentation at the ballpark. The Power will look to defend its fifth consecutive Southern California Collegiate Baseball League championship and the team’s seventh in the SCCBL’s nine-year history.

The Power boasts NCAA talent, including locals such as pitcher Morgan Earman, who graduated from Bermuda Dunes’ Desert Christian Academy and outfielder Gilbert Sauceda, an Indio High School graduate.

“Year in and year out, the Palm Springs Power are one of the best summer programs in the country,” Head Coach Casey Dill said. “After watching our guys practice and play this week, I am confident that this is going to be another very successful season for the Power.”

The season, which lasts until July 24, will feature a number of promotional events throughout the summer, including $1 Beer Tuesdays, $1 Admission Wednesdays, $2 Kids Day Saturdays and Giveaway Sundays.

Regular admission tickets start at $8 and can be purchased at the box office inside Palm Springs Stadium.
