Firefighters respond to Palm Desert apartments fire

It was an unexpected wake up call for residents at a Palm Desert apartment complex early Monday morning.

Seven firefighters with two engine companies responded to a fire alarm activation from an alarm company at the Enclave Apartments along the 35000 block of Gateway Drive.

The alarm sounded at 4:18 a.m., and had firefighters confirming a fire in a generator system.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters said the apartment’s water system put the fire out.

Resources were expected to remain on scene for approximately one hour for smoke removal.

No residents were displaced.
