No homes threatened by forest fire burning north of Los Angeles
Crews are battling a small but growing wildfire in the Angeles National Forest above foothill communities of Los Angeles.
Authorities say the fire broke out around 5:20 a.m. Monday just north of the Tujunga neighborhood and quickly spread uphill through brushy ridges. No homes are threatened.
City fire officials say the blaze was initially estimated at about ¼ acre, but it’s growing.
Los Angeles County crews joined city firefighters on the ground and air support has been requested.
Another round of Santa Ana winds is expected to increase fire danger across the region this week.
