Suspect killed in deputy-involved shootiing in Temecula

A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a suspect outside a county building in downtown Temecula on Tuesday. The shooting happened at about 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Walt P. Abraham County Administrative Center at County Center Drive and Ynez Road, according to the sheriff’s department.

A sheriff’s spokesman said the deputy was unhurt during the confrontation, but did not disclose any further details.

Witnesses reported hearing at least two shots ring out, and at least one bystander described what appeared to be a domestic dispute situation between the suspect and a female, ABC7 reported.

The administrative complex is home to satellite offices for the county Assessor-Clerk-Recorder and the Department of Probation. There is also a courthouse within the structure, where traffic and small claims cases are handled.
