Hundreds of people run for a good cause at second annual Reindeer Run

People got into the holiday spirit Saturday morning at Eisenhower Medical Center’s second annual Reindeer Run. More than 800 people took part, showing off their most festive workout attire, all to support the medical center’s annual funds.

The 5-K event featured a costume contest, Zumba and prizes, which were awarded to the top three runners in each division.

The medical center also collected canned food items to support Martha’s Village and Kitchen. Senior Vice President Laura Fritz said the community’s involvment is a staple to the medical center’s success.

“The money goes to our annual fund to support Eisenhower’s greatest needs. This is where the community needs it most, it might be for technology, to hire staff, for patient care, or to expand an important program,” Fritz said.

The Reindeer Run is one of Eisenhower Medical Center’s most popular fundraisers.
