Power restored for nearly 12 hundred customers in Palm Desert and Cathedral City

Update 7:15 a.m.: Southern California Edison said power expected to be restored to Palm Desert customers by 3:00 p.m. and by 5:00 p.m. to Cathedral City customers.

Update: Power restored to nearly all SCE customers in Palm Desert and Cathedral City. In Palm Desert, 12 customers remain without power and in Cathedral City 34 customers are still without power.

1,206 customers in Palm Desert and Cathedral City are without power Saturday morning.

According to Southern California Edison, the outage in Palm Desert was first reported at 2:24 a.m.

1,172 people are affected by that outage. SCE expects to have power restored for Palm Desert customers by 10:30 a.m.

34 customers in Cathedral City were without power due to an outage that occurred at 1:37 a.m., but power was restored to those customers at around 1:15 p.m.

The cause of the outage is not known.
