Wind uproots large tree in Desert Hot Springs
Windy conditions caused some damage in Desert Hot Springs overnight. The owners of the animal shelter, ‘Kittyland, located at 1717 E Vista Chino, said a 30-foot tree on their property was uprooted overnight.

The owners said they believe it will cost thousands of dollars to remove the tree from the property.
The incident should serve as a reminder of the importance for Coachella Valley residents to properly trim the trees on their property to avoid similar damage.

Windy conditions also prompted the Palm Springs Police Department to shut down Gene Autry Trail at the Whitewater Wash due to limited visibility from blowing sand and dust Wednesday night. The road was reopened at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
