3 arrested for alleged robbery of Palm Desert business

There was a heavy police presence on Monterey Avenue, north of Gerald Ford Drive Thursday morning, as police arrested three people connected to the robbery of a Palm Desert business, which occurred at about 10:30 a.m.

The Palm Desert Police Department was called to investigate the robbery, which occurred in the 72800 block of Highway 111.

The suspect’s vehicle was seen on Monterey Avenue and Gerald Ford Drive shortly after the robbery was reported. Officers said four people were in the vehicle and all of them were detained. Three of them ended up being arrested at about 11:30 a.m.

Officers said La Quinta residents Joshua McCue, 21, and 33-year-old Christopher Ham were both arrested. They also booked 22-year-old Cathedral City resident, Christopher Diaz. All three suspects were taken to the Riverside County Jail in Indio where they’re facing robbery charges.

There was no information provided about the fourth suspect detained in the vehicle.

KESQ and CBS Local 2 had a crew at the scene where the suspects were being identified by an apparent victim before the arrests were made.
