Wet N’ Wild Palm Springs reopens after windy evacuation

Wet N’ Wild Palm Springs reopened Friday morning after a scary evacuation occurred Thursday afternoon following a damaging wind storm that left a power pole snapped and nearly falling onto the water park grounds.

KESQ and CBS Local 2 was at the water park at 12 p.m. Friday where things are getting back to normal.

The city of Palm Springs was scattered with debris following the wind storm. Power outages, road closures and accidents were spreading like wildfire for a few hours as the heaviest wind gusts continued from about 2 p.m. into the late evening.

Palm Springs police reopened N. Indian Canyon Drive at 7 a.m. Friday after blowing sand forced them to shut down the road due to limited visibility.
