Update: Family confirms body of Alfredo ‘Fredo’ Rodriguez was found in French Valley

A former Shadow Hills High School teacher who recently moved to Winchester has been reported missing by his family.

Update: His family will be meeting with search volunteers in La Quinta on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m. to hand out more flyers and update the status of the search for their loved one. The park they will meet at is located at 78468 Westward Ho Drive. His family asks anyone who would like to come out and help with their search efforts to please join them.

KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 spoke with the man’s family on Friday

Alfredo “Fredo” Rodriguez, 45, was last seen near the intersection of Cottonwood Street and Washington Street at about 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Rodriguez was a longtime resident of Indio, and his family is hoping the community can help bring him home.

He was a teacher at both Shadow Hills High School and Cahuilla Desert Academy. He also coached Special Education children at CDA’s afterschool program.

His family said he left home on foot with no wallet, cell phone, or keys. He has not contacted any family members or friends since. His family is concerned for his safety and well-being as he recently has become mentally despondent and showing signs of diminished capacity and confusion, authorities said in a release.

He has never left home like this before and has no criminal history or drug/alcohol abuse.

His family is coordinating search efforts in the Coachella Valley in addition to the sheriff’s department searching in western Riverside County.

A missing flyer is asking the public to call 951-973-9308 or 310-365-3875 or call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
