Motorist airlifted to hospital after Therrmal collision

A motorist was seriously injured after two SUVs were involved in a collision on Harrison Street south of Avenue 68 in Thermal Wednesday morning. Authorities said four other people suffered minor injuries in the crash at approximately 10:20 a.m.

The 18-year-old victim with serious injuries was was airlifted to a hospital. The initial report from Cal Fire stated he was thrown from a vehicle during the crash, but that turned out not to be the case.

Two of the other crash victims with minor injuries were also hospitalized. One was a toddler and the other was a woman, Jeremy Chen found out from authorities on scene.

The collision shut down the road for about an hour. Officers were starting to reopen the roadway to traffic at about 11:30 a.m.
