Arizona man identified in deadly Beaumont crash

On Monday authorities identified an Arizona man who was fatally injured in a crash involving a truck pulling a horse trailer in Beaumont.

Lamar Gregory Stewart, 54, of Goodyear, died at a hospital about 45 minutes after the Sunday morning crash on State Route 79 at South California Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle collided with a truck pulling an empty horse trailer at 9:15 a.m. Stewart was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he was pronounced dead just before 10 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and details remain sketchy, including what vehicle Stewart was in. One other person was injured, but a condition report was unavailable.
