Man accused of threatening neighbor with gun over noise complaint
Police arrested a Joshua Tree man Monday night on accusations of threatening his neighbor with a gun due to a noise complaint.
Deputies said Frank Nicholson, 68, is accused of pointing a gun at a neighbor in the 60800 block of Division Street in Joshua Tree and asking the man if “he wanted to die?” The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m.
The apparent victim, 31, and a friend were outside talking on a porch when Nicholson allegedly complained that they were talking too loudly and that’s when an argument began. According to witnesses, Nicholson went back inside his house and returned with a gun.
Deputies said Nicholson returned to his house before deputies arrived to the scene.
After investigating the incident, Nicholson was arrested and a .38 caliber revolver was located. Deputies said a witness confirmed the victim’s version of the events. Nicholson is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, according to the sheriff’s department.
Nicholson was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and is being held on $50,000.
