Man killed in Cathedral City shooting

Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Cathedral City after a man died early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the shooting at 2:40 a.m. in the 68500 block of Tachevah Drive.

Paramedics treated the man on scene, however officers said he later died from his injuries. His name has not been released, pending notification of family members.

Officers said an altercation between two groups of men took place. The cause of the altercation is unknown. Officers also said handguns were pulled out, and the victim was hit several times.

The suspects ran away, and were still on the loose.

Police provided these descriptions of the three suspects:

Suspect 1: Hispanic Male 18-21 years of age 5’6-5’8 medium build Wearing a blue Shirt with Blue Jeans Suspect 2: Hispanic Male 18-21 years of age 5’8 130 pounds wearing a Red Shirt Black shorts Suspect 3: Hispanic Male 18-21 years of age 5’8-5’9 medium build wearing a blue shirt dark jeans
