Baseball fans react to Astros winning World Series

People across the Coachella Valley packed into sports bars to watch the final game of the World Series.

Cheers were few and far between at the Beer Hunter in La Quinta. The vast majority of customers were Dodger fans, but the few Astros fans at the bar were ecstatic for the 5-1 win in Game 7.

“I am excited. I love that team. They have a great camaraderie and they look like they wanted to win it more. So I am really happy,” said April Fauls of Cathedral City.“I am totally upset. I thought that we had this. It was the Dodger’s year after 29 years I’m bummed,” said Alex Nagron a lifelong Dodger fan.

“It’s got to be one of the best World Series of all time. Every game has been close, no blow outs, extra innings twice. It has been a phenomenal series,” said Ray Allan, an Astros fan.

Locally the real winners were businesses like the Beer Hunter. Going to game 7 means major league cash for sports bars.“It has made business booming thought the week. It’s been great. Normally we have pretty slow Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but the last two weeks the games have been phenomenal,” said John Barber, CEO of the Beer Hunter.
