Mother seeks answers after son found dead near Desert Hot Springs

A mother is looking for answers after months of waiting to find out what happened to her son who was found dead in a remote desert area in August.

The Riverside County Sheriffs Department said that about 7 a.m. on Aug. 6 a person stumbled across a man’s body in an area south of Desert Hot Springs, a quarter-mile East of Mountain View Drive and 1 mile North of Dillon Road.

The man was later identified as 30-Year-old Eric Littleton. His family lives out of the area and has been asking for answers to its questions about his death.

According to the family, he was found in a remote area, wearing only a pair of shorts and his earrings.

His mother, Michelle Jesse, stated to KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 that wearing only minimal clothes was not in his character.

She also added that he was not wearing shoes and his personal items were not found on him.

Jesse, who now lives in Covington, Kentucky, said she spoke with her son last on May 1 and the last time anyone in his family heard from him was sometime in mid-June when he called his grandmother.

Jesse said her son had been doing well, and lived in various areas in Southern California, including Palm Springs.

She was told that his death has been ruled undetermined, leaving her with more questions than answers.

The Sheriff’s Department would only confirm that the case is still under investigation. If you have any information about this case, or any information about Littleton to call the Sheriff’s Department or Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-STOP.
