Mr. Eco teaches local students the importance of protecting our environment

Some east valley students were moving and grooving on Monday while learning about protecting our environment.

Mr. Eco, an environmental rap superhero, visited students at James Madison Elementary School in Indio to teach them about conserving energy, climate change and the negative impacts of food waste.

“I feel like that encompasses all the aspects of environmentalism because of the resources it takes to grow the food to get them to us. If we just waste that, it goes to the landfill and wastes space so hopefully the kids can grasp that and talk with their parents about not wasting food.” Mr. Eco said.

Mr. Eco is set to perform at two more schools in Indio.

On Thursday, he’ll be at Carrillo Ranch Elementary at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

On Friday, he’ll be at Herbert Hoover Elementary at 8:30 a.m. and 9:50 a.m.
