Family of Thermal hit and run victim remember the man he was

19-year-old Jose Lopez was killed in a hit and run crash in Thermal on Tuesday.

Lopez was killed when 18-year-old Hannah Felix turned in front of his truck on Polk Street near Avenue 70.

She was allegedly driving without a license and later arrested for vehicular manslaughter and hit and run. Felix was released from custody today after posting $75,000 bail.

Lopez’s family described him as someone who was always kind to those he met.

“We were always together, he would share things with me, he would buy me things. We would have lots of fun,” said
