Coroner ID’s two men killed in La Quinta collision

The Riverside County Coroners Office identified two men killed in a La Quinta collision Sunday as Tatham Crawford, 28, of Palm Desert and Jerry Heredia, 22, of Indio.

Both Crawford and Heredia died Sunday night following a collision in La Quinta near the intersection of Washington Street and Eisenhower Drive. The wreck happened in front of the Rancho La Quinta Community.

A representative for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department three other people were injured, then transported to an area hospital for treatment. There was no immediate word on their conditions.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters said two passenger vehicles collided at 6:38 p.m. 14 firefighters responded to the scene and worked to free people from the wreckage.

The Riverside County Sheriffs Department Traffic Reconstruction Team was on scene investigating. The intersection was closed to through traffic for several hours but reopened early Monday morning.
