Season kicks off with Broken Glass Awards

Season has begun!

Hundreds turned out for the 9th Annual Broken Glass Awards put on by the Palm Springs Women in Film and Television at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage.

The annual luncheon highlighted the achievements of five successful women involved in areas of Film, Television and Philanthropy. The honorees were Singer/Actress/Producer Lucie Arnaz, the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Stunt performer Jane Austin, Humanitarian/Philanthropist Nelda Linsk, Television Producer and Actress Kellee McQuinn and Actress and Author Stefanie Powers.

PSWIFT board member Mitch Blumberg says, “We’re dedicated to improving opportunities and getting more opportunities for women. We do that with monthly meetings, mixers, talks by visiting people from Los Angeles but we seek to empower people to get farther in their careers and to get things done.”

News Channel 3’s Karen Devine was the emcee. PSWIFT raises money for scholarships that go to local young people looking for a career in television or film.
