Jefferson construction closes ramps
On and off ramps at the Jefferson Street Interchange were closed for a second overnight in a row early Wednesday morning as construction crews work on the project.
Motorists hoping to get on the freeway there were facing detours to either Monroe Street to the east or Washington Street to the west.
Freeway lanes were also being closed intermittently as construction crews worked on the travel lanes just east and west of the Jefferson Interchange.
All work was set to be completed by 6 a.m.
Local representatives attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 17 to celebrate the interchange’s near completion.
