One dead after truck hits tree in Banning
One person is dead after a truck veered off the I-10 into a tree in Banning.
The crash was reported at 10:21 a.m. on the westbound I-10, west of 22nd Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two people were inside the vehicle when the truck overturned and came to rest at a drainage ditch after striking a tree.
One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The second person succumbed to their injuries on scene.
California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
