Joshua Tree man arrested for allegedly hitting child

Deputies in the high desert arrested a man for allegedly inflicting injury to a child.

On Thursday, a deputy from the Morongo Basin Station responded to Joshua Tree Elementary School to investigate a six-year-old child’s visible injuries.

The child reported he was assaulted by his mother’s boyfriend, Aidan Chairez,26, of Joshua Tree.

The child had bruising on his face consistent with injuries caused by an adult’s hand and complained of pain to the top of his head from his hair being pulled.

Chairez was located at 64848 Walpi Drive in Joshua Tree and was arrested for two misdemeanor warrants and inflicting injury to a child. His bail was set at $100,000.00.
