High Winds Create Several Fire Weather Warnings in Southern California

Several weather warnings and advisories in Southern California for Sunday night moving through Monday morning and beyond.

Offshore gusts will begin to increase Sunday night. The northeast winds are expected to reach consistent winds speeds between 20 and 30 mph and gusts between 40 and 60 mph. The wind warning stretches from the San Gorgonio/San Bernardino/Riverside area to Orange County.

The Red Flag Warning begins late Sunday/early Monday as dew points are expected to drop into the single digits. The combination of high winds and dry climate produces an increased chance of wildfires. The pink of the Red Flag Warning is stacked beneath the yellow of the High Wind Advisory, however, they are active simultaneously.
