Palm Desert man arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with minor

Authorities arrested a Palm Desert man for allegedly committing lewd acts on a minor.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Armando Munoz, the department received information on Nov. 15 regarding a possible incident in La Quinta where a sexual battery on a minor occurred.

On Nov. 30, investigators located and arrested 34 year-old, Palm Desert resident Juan Ayala Jr. for multiple sexual abuse charges.

According to court documents, there is a second alleged victim who reported she was abused in 2004.

Ayala Jr. faces 11 felony charges including sexual penetration by force, oral copulation on a minor and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

He pleaded not guilty on Monday and remains behind bars on $2 million bail.
