More than 40 days with no clues and no verified sightings of this missing couple. Family and friends refuse to give up hope.
James Darling knows all about magic but for more than a month he’s been praying a miracle.
His son Jonathan Reynoso, also known as Jon Darling, and his Reynoso’s girlfriend Audrey Moran have been missing since May 10th.
“It’s just like a guessing game every morning when they wake up it’s like a whole nightmare reoccurring over and over and over again,” said James Darling, Jonathon’s father.
Family friends and volunteers gathered at the La Quinta Brewing Company in Palm Desert for a fundraiser to raise money for a reward for any information to find the couple.
Parents make an emotional plea for help
“We don’t have much time left. A month has already passed. W e need your help and the only way to do that is if you come forward… what you think is the smallest thing, the smallest clue, actually turns out to be the biggest,” said Mayra Torres, Jonathan’s mother.
Arturo Alvarez, a close friend of Jonathan’s lamented, “you go through feelings of helplessness. You don’t know what to do at times. I don’t know, it’s a roller coaster.”
For the family this has been the most difficult time in their lives.
“I get on my knees, I pray, I ask for the strength, and then I got to do what I have to do. I don’t have time to cry, my tears are for me at home, when I wake and when I go to sleep. I don’t have time for tears… there’s too much to do,” said Mayra Torres.
Volunteers continue to search leaving flyers anywhere they can to keep the word out.
Currently there is a $10,000 reward for information. Anyone who knows anything is asked to contact police.
