Man finds wife’s wedding ring in wildfire rubble, proposes second time

The Thomas Fire may have destroyed their home but not their spirit. A Ventura couple discovered a glimpse of hope and newfound love after finding her original wedding ring among the rubble of their former house.

Don and Julie Myers were allowed back on their property to get their classic Metropolitan car and an RV after the Thomas Fire ravaged their neighborhood.

The couple was not expecting to find anything worth salvaging when they began digging through the ash and rubble. However, Don found Julie’s original wedding ring, got down on one knee, and proposed for the second time.

The couple is doing well and is in high spirits.
