COD students host free pop-up playground and book drive for children

College of the Desert’s Early Childhood Education program is hosted a free pop-up playground and book drive for children up to age 10 and their families Sunday morning.

The event was hosted at Coachella Veterans Park, 1515 6th St. It started at 9 a.m. and went until noon.

The pop-up featured recycled materials, aimed to help develop physical, language and thinking skills.

The COD students were inspired to host the event after seeing similar pop-ups while on a school trip to Costa Rica.
