Police investigating early morning collision in Palm Springs

Police were investigating an early morning collision that closed Ramon Road between El Cielo and Compadre Road for a period of time Monday.

Police on scene said one person was in a car that crashed into a power pole shortly after 3 a.m. The vehicle was flipped on it’s side in the collision.

The person was taken to a hospital for treatment. There was no immediate word on the motorist’s condition. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The closed road reopened at 4:45 a.m.

A Southern California Edison crew was called to the scene to check on the damaged pole. There were no reported power outages associated with the crash according to SCE.
