Firefighters contain 20-acre Banning fire

Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters battled a 19.5-acre wildland fire in Banning Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters first received reports of the fire at a little before 3:27 pm in the area of Shirleon Drive and Old Banning Idyllwild Road in Banning.

A ranger on scene said the fire burned 15-acres on state land and 5 acres on the Morongo Indian reservation.

133 firefighters were dispatched to the fire.
