Indio police arrest man for possession of weapons during probation search

A man faces several weapon charges after being arrested following a probation search in Indio.

On Tuesday, detectives from the Indio Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit conducted follow-up on several recent shootings. During a probation search in the 80000 block of Sabita Drive, Jayro Castro was found to be in possession of a short barrel rifle and an unregistered handgun.

Castro was arrested for several weapons charges and booked into the Riverside County Jail.
