School & police warn parents of stranger harassing students

School officials and Cathedral City police are warning parents of a man harassing students walking home from school alone.

Two students walking home from Landau Elementary School Wednesday afternoon reported that they were approached by an older Hispanic male who asked for their names and where they lived.

According to the students, the man was on foot and told the students to wait as he went back to get his car. The students fled and reported the incident to their parents who filed a police report. The Cathedral City Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

Parents of students who attend Landau Elementary and Rio Vista Elementary were warned of the stranger.

Parents are advised to tell their children to never talk to strangers and report any suspicious activity immediately to police.
