Two firefighters injured in Desert Hot Springs house fire

Two Firefighters were injured while working to contain a structure fire in Desert Hot Springs.

It was reported at 7:11 a.m. Thursday morning along the 8500 block of Warwick Drive, inside the Mission Lakes Country Club community.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters said the first arriving engine company reported an attic fire at the home.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze and were driven by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.

Officials on scene said the fire spread throughout the attic causing a number of roof collapses.

Six engine companies with 22 firefighters were working to put the flames out.

The fire was contained at 9:18 a.m.

The American Red Cross was called to help people were displaced due to the fire.

According to family, they are two adults and three children, ages five, 13, and 16.
