Behind the scenes of the West Elm House

West Elm and ACME House Company are partnering up for the second year in a row to create a concept house for Modernism Week.

“We’re trying to bring a lot of newness to the house and show the direction our company is going. Keeping the midcentury, but focusing on the modern,” said Aysha Madison with West Elm.

The brand is partnering with ACME House Company to create a living showroom.

“What we’ve done is take a classic Palm Springs home, teamed up with West Elm and other local makers to transform this classic Palm Springs home into the ideal vacation rental,” said John-Patrick with ACME House Company.

And once Modernism week is over, this home will be added to the company’s vacation rental roster.

“This is a way for people to come and see these classic homes. See how West Elm interprets them for the way we live today and can imagine them selves immersing themselves in the Palm Springs experience by staying here,” John-Patrick said.

The entire process took around six months to complete.

“The most work we’ve done on the property is out in the backyard. The backyard has been completely remained. We’ve added a bar, two fire pits. We’ve remained the pool. Adding a spa, adding a tanning deck,” John-Patrick said.

You can purchase tickets to tour the home or attend one of the parties hosted here on the Modernism Week website.
