There will be no bail set for the man arrested for a failed Indio armored car robbery, a judge ruled today. The ruling was made based on the nature of the crime committed and his past criminal record.

Ontiveros is currently facing charges including attempted murder and attempted robbery relating to his involvement in a Feb. 10 attempted robbery of a Brinks armored truck at the Wells Fargo at the intersection of Monroe St. and Highway 111 in Indio.
The initial incident occurred in the late morning, after which Ontiveros and another suspect fled the scene and led law enforcement 4+ hours pursuit that ended at the Coachella Mobile Home Park. During the arrest, Ontiveros’ accomplice, Justin Guerrero, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The decision also took into account Ontiveros’ extensive criminal rap sheet and the fact that he had absconded when released on bail during a prior case.
