Palm Springs dog park closes temporarily
The Palm Springs dog park is closing for four weeks starting today.
The park will undergo repairs and maintenance and is not expected to reopen until April 23. The city will have a temporary off-leash park for big dogs available at Demuth Park in the area of the former batting cages behind the baseball fields 7 and 8.
“The city of Palm Springs and our Parks and Recreation Commission are pleased to once again meet the needs of our animal lovers by providing secure temporary dog parks while needed maintenance is performed at our widely used park behind City Hall,” said Vicki Oltean, director of Parks and Recreation. “We encourage everyone in need of a safe place to walk their pooches to take advantage of the temporary locations at Demuth Park.”
There will also be a temporary park for small dogs on Demuth Park’s east end, on the corner of Vella Road and Mesquite Avenue across from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.
