Three suffer major injuries in collision near Desert Hot Springs

One of the people injured in the crash, later officially identified as Raymond Morin, 25, of Desert Hot Springs, was pronounced dead this morning, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

According to the California Highway Patrol, all three people injured were occupants of the same vehicle. Their vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a palm tree.

The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Marco Antonio Alvarez of Desert Hot Springs, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, according to CHP.

Three people seriously injured in a traffic collision near Desert Hot Springs Tuesday evening.

The traffic collision was reported at 6:58 p.m. in the intersection of Dillon Road and Angel View Road.

At least one of the victims had to be extricated from their vehicle, according to Cal Fire. All three victims were taken to the hospital in ground ambulances.

No other details on the crash have been released at this time.
