Two arrested for alleged Desert Hot Springs burglary

Two men were arrested in Desert Hot Springs after an early morning burglary at a residence on the 67000 block of Loma Vista Road. Desert Hot Springs Police arrested 26-year old Robert Pastel of Mesa, AZ and 31-year-old Salvador Jimenez Garcia of Cathedral City.

Officers said at approximately 3:00 am, they responded to the residence for a report of suspicious people in the area. They said they learned the two men were seen entering and exiting a home carrying property before leaving in a white sedan.

Officers located the vehicle nearby and contacted the occupants. Inside the vehicle, officers said they located items identified as coming from the home in question. Additionally, cash and valuables from inside the home were found inside.

Both Pastel and Jimenez were booked on charges of 1st-degree residential burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property. They are currently being held at the Riverside County Jail in Banning.
