Coachella Valley Horse Rescue receives February Coachella Valley Spotlight Grant

The Coachella Valley Spotlight Grant recipient for February is Coachella Valley Horse Rescue.

The organization rescues horses from abuse, abandonment and slaughter. It works to rehabilitate and find new homes for as many rescued horses as possible and provide sanctuary for horses that can’t be adopted.

On Tuesday, the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation presented the organization with $25,000. The organization said this grant is going to help it get the things it needs to run its programs.

“We want to continue with our veterans program. We want to continue to upgrade the ranch. We need lights. We need more shade for the horses. There’s so many things we need and more obstacles for the kids,” said vice president rescue director Annette Garcia.

Coachella Valley Horse Rescue offers rehabilitation programs for veterans and children. It also offers riding lessons to people who want to learn how to ride horses.
