Operation SafeHouse receives January Coachella Valley Spotlight Grant

The Coachella Valley Spotlight Grant recipient for January is Operation SafeHouse.

SafeHouse is a Coachella Valley organization that provides emergency shelter and outreach services to runaways, homeless youths and other youths in crisis.

The organization will use the grant to provide general operating support to all Thousand Palms programs, including SafeHouse of the Desert Emergency Shelter, Harrison House Transitional Living Program and the Neuma House.

SafeHouse of the Desert Emergency Shelter houses up to 300 youths annually, while Harrison House serves up to 25 youths annually.

These funds can provide up to 200 runaway, homeless and at-risk youths with services. These general operating costs are food, utilities, uniforms, staffing and supplies for one year, at a cost of $120 per youth per day.
