Lines smooth at Palm Springs International Airport so far this holiday season

Despite the holiday madness on the roads, it’s been nothing but sunshine and smooth lines at Palm Springs International Airport.

“I love this airport, it is great, it’s compact and so nice…”

It’s a huge contrast to the airports in big cities. With record-setting numbers of travelers taking to the skies to reach their travel destinations, the TSA is ramping up with extra officers to keep those security checkpoints moving.

“I’m hoping by leaving on a Thursday we’ll avoid the worst of it,” said

The TSA pre-check is the list you want to make sure you’re on if you are traveling this holiday season.

AAA says the number of people flying this year will be at the highest level in fifteen years.

“Now this year because Christmas falls on a Tuesday and people typically try to fly to destinations, 2-3 days before the holiday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be extremely busy at the airports. You want to get to the airports at least 2 hours ahead of time for domestic flights and at least three hours ahead of time for international flights,” said Doug Shupe of AAA.
