Yucca Valley police standoff ends

A Yucca Valley police standoff ended shortly before 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning, but deputies remained on scene investigating.

Deputies at the scene said they were working on a statement, but provided no immediate update Thursday morning.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were called to a neighborhood as a man barricaded himself inside a residence Wednesday evening.

Viewers reported seeing SWAT units, a bomb squad, and numerous deputies in the area of Warren Vista Road and Buena Vista Road.

A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed authorities were negotiating with the suspect, who may have been armed. The spokesperson also confirmed there was initially a female inside the home with the suspect. There was no word on whether she was able to get out of the home.

The property’s owner told News Channel 3 the suspect is a tenant in that neighborhood.

There was no immediate word on arrests, or if anyone was injured.
