Fire crews put out fire near Palm Springs Tram

Palm Springs Firefighters were battling a wildfire along Tramway Road and North Palm Canyon Drive early Friday morning.

The flames were first reported shortly before 11:15 p.m. on Thursday evening.

Cal Fire firefighters were called to the scene along with City of Palm Springs firefighters.

The fire had blackened two to three acres, as of 1:00 a.m. Friday, according to a Cal Fire fire chief.

One lane of southbound Highway 111 was closed for fire equipment at Gateway Drive, according to crews at the scene.
