Palm Springs police and firefighters play softball in memory of Officer Zerebny

Palm Springs police and firefighters went to bat for the third annual Lesley Zerebny memorial softball game. The game itself is played at Big League Dreams Sports Park in Cathedral City this Sunday, October 6th at 6 p.m.

On October 8, 2016, Zerebny and veteran officer Jose “Gil” Vega were shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute at a home in a normally quiet Palm Springs neighborhood.

The Palm Springs Police Officers’ Association and the Palm Springs Fire Department will hold the softball game in her honor. Zerebny played in the game before she was killed in the line of duty three years ago.

Chris Jaeger, Sgt. of Palm Springs Police department remembers the fallen officer.

“Her smile was ever present was bigger than life and she was a light so it was nice to have her around. She made everything more enjoyable,” says Jaeger.

All proceeds will go to the Palm Springs police and fire memorial funds.
