Outage in La Quinta affecting over 3000 customers

A power outage in La Quinta Monday evening has affected 3,000 Imperial Irrigation District customers.

The outage was reported at a little after 6 p.m. In their last update at 7 p.m., IID says 3,039 customers are affected.

An IID spokeperson said the outage was caused by equipment failure, more it’s an issue with the capacity bank.

IID tweeted out that power is expected to be fully restored by 8 p.m.
