Desert Hot Springs police make arrest in deadly shooting

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department has made an arrest in last night's shooting that ended deadly.

On Sunday, November 18, 2019 around 10:13 p.m. Desert Hot Springs Police Officers responded to a shooting call in the 12200 Block of Palm Dr.

In a statement police said, "Upon arriving at the scene, Officers located a shooting victim and began life saving measures; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries."

Officials are holding onto the identity of the victim until next of kin is notified.

Detectives followed leads to 19-year old Matthew Gallegos of Desert Hot Springs. Gallegos has been booked into Banning jail for murder.
