Emergency crews work to pull SUV from mountain edge on road off HWY 74

Emergency crews are working Wednesday morning to remove an abandoned vehicle on a dirt road off Highway 74 near Vista Point.

Riverside County Sheriff's deputies, California Highway Patrol officers, and CAL FIRE personnel are on scene.

A tow truck is expected to arrive on scene at 10:45 a.m.

The incident was reported at around 8:40 a.m.

According to CHP, the vehicle is at risk of falling onto Highway 74.

The roadway was momentarily closed as a tow truck pull the SUV from the mountain edge. Roads were reopened at around 11:48 a.m.

No injuries have been reported and the driver had not been located.

The vehicle is located west of Vista Point, up grade from the viewpoint
