507 turkeys/hams donated during Sunline’s annual “Fill the Bus” food drive

Sunline Transit Agency hosted their 13th annual holiday "Fill the Bus" food drive on Thursday at three valley locations.

With the community's help, the agency is collected non-perishable food items and toiletries to help those in need ahead of the holidays.

Three large Sunline buses were parked at the Walmart in Palm Desert, the Ralphs in Palm Springs and the Stater Bros. in La Quinta to make it easy for people to donate items.

The food drive went from to 5 a.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday. Sunline confirmed they collected 507 turkeys/hams and 12.29 tons of food/toiletries today. 

Collected items will go towards families at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission and the LGBT Community Center of the Desert in Palm Springs.
